Just when you thought it safe

Just when you thought it safe to go back in the arcade: I’ve got no real announcements to be made for the site. I just want to thank y’all for bearing with me through the unexpected hiatus. I’d expected to skip the day after the fourth, but my dad had a little emergency surgery on his guts. You see he’d previously had gut surgery to get rid of a cancerous polyp, and the scar tissue from that surgery decided to go evil and attack his guts. You could say it was trying to help his guts, but it ended up hating his guts. Anyway, he’s recovering right now before the doctors reconnect his guts in a couple of months. Moral of the story: Be nice to your guts.

    Guts! Guts! Guts!

    We’re back!

And.. uh… better than ever. I was working on today’s strip for Friday, but I was having extreme difficulties getting the truck right. Finally, it reached a point where I liked it, so I started working on the second panel and that started off all wrong, too. I then decided that it wasn’t going to work out at all and so you get it today (or whenever you’re reading it). It would’ve made more sense on Friday but the comic strip time frame is only loosely associated with our time frame.

The truck was meant to be a suped up late 60’s model Chevy. I’m not a Chevy snob; I just thought it would suit Woody best. Also, it turned out to look like a Brat because of the proportions of Woody in front. Maybe for the Special Edition we’ll have George Lucas screw it up even worse.

    Thanks for tuning back in!

Okay, I’ve got some bad news…

Okay, I’ve got some bad news, and I’ve got some good news. (Revisionist history edition)

The bad news? Due to a family emergency, the holiday weekend, various bouts of traveling, and lingering tiredness, there will be no strip today. So, enjoy your three-day holiday weekend, and new strips will resume on July 12.

The good news? Today is Lindsay Lohan’s 18th birthday, and you know what that means…GAME ON!!!

What? Oh, I know what you’re thinking, and let me just point out that while my feelings may be creepy and so very wrong, as of today they’re no longer illegal.

    Go Lindsay, it’s your birthday…

It is SO very good. Go see it, or else you suck.

    More later. Must sleep now.

    Godspeed, Spider-Man

    Does whatever a monkey can…

In order to raise public awareness of a promising little art-house film opening this week called Spider-Man 2, we here at the Monkeyproject have declared this SPIDEY WEEK. This week, the strip will have the proportionate strength and abilities of a spider! Okay, it’ll actually just be three days of Spidey-related shenanigans, but if you print the strips out and put tape on them, they can cling to walls!

    THWIPP!
