    Part III: In which…

Part III: In which technology continues conspire against me… OK, there is a strip but it’s having a hard time getting to the “Internet”. My DSL went out last night for some unknown reason and so I couldn’t upload it. I no longer have a normal modem (that hasn’t been fragged by power surges) so I couldn’t use AOL on the sly. So I activated the emergency backup plan, dropped the comic on a floppy and carried it to work to upload there. Of course, floppies are notoriously unreliable and there’s some kind of read error in the comic file, even after I checked it out before I left the house.

I’ve called SBC DSL. They are experiencing major Network issues in Tulsa and the surrounding area that they hope to have resolved by 12:45 2:45 pm (as of 10:30 am) so we might be able to get you new comic goodness by this afternoon. I just knew I should’ve put the file on my MP3 player instead of the floppy, but that would’ve meant fetching it from the truck. Gah.

Don’t go looking for parts I and II. They don’t exist.

Skip as it turns out is a video game nerd in addition to being a scientist. He knows Marlowe’s secret identity and could blow the whole operation wide open. Ah well, bunch of damn dirty apes anyways…

(Editor’s note: Skip isn’t necessarily a video game nerd but he might be. He’s just going to his favorite bar for beer. People are all kinds of nerdy about things even if they’re not at the place that makes them that kind of nerd. — James)

As you can see from today’s strip, after an indeterminate amount of time, Woody and Skip have escaped the sticky wicket they were in with the van and the bear and all the rawring. How they managed said escape is currently unknown, but I like to think that the Punisher had something to do with it.

Because Frank Castle is a badass.

    Rawrrrr, bitch.

Cease to resist, given my goodbye…

Well, I finally stayed awake long enough last night to finish the strip. I’ve been selling my house and home shopping and dealing all sorts of issues like someone using my Social Security number for fraud. It is exhausting. I’d expect irregular strips for the next month or so as my living situation changes. For those of you who don’t recognize what’s going on, the comic today references Paul and Felicia’s earlier conversation at The Lazy Mallard over pool.

In other eventful news, it looks like my sister (AKA Melody) is a hot commodity in her job market. I’m sure she’ll inform you of the results from her wooing by universities far and near when she’s good and ready. Good news all around.

Drive my car into the ocean…

Wednesday’s strip, which had been pushed back to Thursday, will now appear on Friday. In fact, we will most likely call it “the Friday strip” and we’ll all just pretend that Wednesday never happened, the same way I cope with my senior prom.

Sure, Jeni, go dance with that other guy…FOR FOUR HOURS
