Where are the shiny gifties?
As James is in the midst of Mardi Gras N’Awlins, I thought I would take this opportunity to hi-jack. So, tonight, on a very special Blossom, I would like to talk about Ralph Nader. In the 2000 election, Nader made the somewhat dubious argument that his candidacy was about bringing forth issues that were neglected by the Democrats and Republicans. In his candidacy bid in 2004 does he argue the same? The Democratic primary has offered people the opportunity to hear and vote for a spectrum of candidates to the left of center, and while the news media has been remiss in many ways in its coverage of said candidates, the information has been widely and openly available. So, what is it that Nader hopes to accomplish? Another victory for Bush? It seems to me that Ralph Nader is on his own side, not the side of the American people.
